Portfolios, properties, units and tenants
Primefold RI holds the same hierarchy a real estate team already thinks in. Setting it up is what turns a pile of documents into a portfolio. Documents, Sunday and validation all work without it; it is what makes portfolio-level questions possible.
The hierarchy
Portfolio → Property → Unit → Tenant, with leases and other documents attaching at any level. There is no fund or company level above portfolio.

Tenants are created through units. There is no standalone "new tenant" button; you add a tenant while creating or opening the unit they occupy, which reflects reality, since a tenant without a unit is not meaningful here.
Tips & best practices
- Link documents to the level they actually apply at. Once linked, a document appears on that property's profile and Sunday can scope answers to it: "what's the average rent in the Hamburg portfolio?" only works if properties belong to that portfolio.
- Breadcrumbs run the full depth, so you can move from a unit back up to the portfolio in one click.
- Resolve name aliases before comparing. The same tenant recorded three ways produces three tenants.
