Design your Survey

Applies to: Trial / Business / Enterprise

Use the Design tab to style your survey so it matches your brand. You can choose a theme, adjust layout, customize colors and text, preview the survey on different devices, and optionally ask Sunday to help you generate a design based on your website.

Before you start

  • You need an existing survey draft.

  • Open the survey editor (from Surveys → select a survey).

Related: Create a survey

Step 1: Open the Design tab

  1. Open your survey in the editor.

  2. Select Design (top navigation).

You’ll see:

  • A live preview in the center

  • A design panel on the right (theme/layout/colors/text)

  • Sunday on the left (optional help via chat)

Step 2: Choose a theme (Dark / Light)

In the right-side panel, open Theme and select:

  • Dark (default), or

  • Light

The preview updates immediately.

Step 3: Adjust the layout

In Layout, you can change how elements are displayed visually (for example):

  • Alignment

  • Question styling

  • Roundness

Use the preview to confirm the survey stays clean and easy to read.

Step 4: Customize colors and text

In Colors, refine the appearance of key elements such as:

  • Background

  • Header

  • Text

In Text, adjust the typography and wording style settings available in your version/workspace.

Step 5: Preview on different devices (laptop / tablet / phone)

In the preview area, use the device preview controls to switch between:

  • Laptop/Desktop

  • Tablet

  • Phone

This helps you check spacing, readability, and tap targets before you publish.

Step 6 (Optional): Ask Sunday to adapt your design

You can also use Sunday to speed up styling.

  1. In the Sunday chat (left side), describe the look you want or paste your website URL.

  2. Sunday will propose design updates based on your instructions.

Example prompts:

  • “Match the survey design to this website: ”

  • “Make the survey more minimal and professional.”

  • “Increase contrast and readability for mobile.”

Safe editing: Undo/Redo and History

Design work is safe to experiment with:

  • Use Undo and Redo to step backward/forward through recent changes.

  • Use History / Change History to review what was updated over time and return to earlier states if needed.

Design-related settings (General)

While working on your survey, you may also configure general settings such as:

  • Name & description

  • Maximum responses

  • Survey lifetime

  • Incentive

  • Language detection

If your product separates styling from configuration, keep styling changes in Design and manage these items under Settings.
