Create a Survey from scratch 

Applies to: Trial / Business / Enterprise

Starting from scratch is the best option if you want full control over your survey structure from the first question onward. You’ll open the standard survey editor and build the content manually—while Sunday stays available at any time to help you refine, rewrite, or expand.

Before you start

  • Go to Surveys in the left navigation.

  • Click New Survey (top right).

Step 1: Open the “Start from scratch” flow

  1. In the left navigation, click Surveys.

  2. Click New Survey (top right).

  3. Select Start from scratch.

This opens the standard survey content editor.

Step 2: Create your first questions

In the content editor, you can build your survey step by step:

  • Add a question

  • Write the question text

  • Choose a question type / answer type (for example: multiple choice, long text, etc.)

  • Add and edit answer options (where applicable)

As your survey grows, you can continue adding questions and organizing them into the structure you need.

Step 3 (Optional): Use Sunday while building manually

Even when you start from scratch, Sunday is always by your side. You can prompt Sunday to help with things like:

  • Rewriting questions for clarity

  • Creating additional questions for a specific topic

  • Adjusting tone of voice

  • Suggesting better answer options or question formats

This lets you keep manual control while still using AI to speed up writing and iteration.
